From the Puppies' Point of View: A Completely Biased Review of Bath Time

Story Time May 25, 2026 (Updated: July 5, 2026)
A playful first-person-style post imagining what puppies would say about bath time if they were honest and deeply dramatic.
If puppies could review bath time, the ratings would be wildly inconsistent.

One puppy would call it refreshing. Another would file a formal complaint. A third would spend the entire event trying to bite the water and then act betrayed when the towel appeared. Bathing is rarely neutral.

From a puppy's point of view, the indignity is layered. First there is the sink or tub. Then there is the suspicious warmth of the water. Then the shampoo. Then the towel, which somehow manages to be both comforting and offensive. Then, just when the situation appears to be over, someone introduces the dryer.

Of course, most puppies can learn to handle all of this perfectly well when the process is calm, positive, and short. Early bathing should be about exposure and good feelings, not perfection. A clean puppy is nice. A puppy who trusts the process is even better.

So yes, your puppy may emerge from the bath with the expression of someone who has seen too much. That is fine. With repetition and patience, bath time becomes just another ordinary part of life.

The reviews may remain mixed. The cooperation usually improves.
