Health & our breeding program
Dogs are living animals, and no breeder can promise a puppy will never have a health problem. What we can tell you is what we do before breeding, what care puppies receive here, what records go home with them, and what our health guarantee covers.
Parent testing
Parent dogs are health- and DNA-tested before breeding. We use multiple testing sources and panels depending on the dog and what we need to screen for. The goal is to reduce known genetic risks and make informed breeding decisions.
Why testing matters
Testing does not make every outcome impossible. It helps us avoid known problems where we can, and it gives families clearer information about the parents behind a litter.
Veterinary care for puppies
While puppies are with us they receive veterinary care appropriate to their age, including vaccinations and deworming as applicable. We keep records so you know what has already been done when your puppy goes home.
What goes home with your puppy
Families receive health records and guidance for the transition home. You should establish care with your own veterinarian promptly after pickup. Our guarantee requires a licensed veterinary exam within the timeframe described in the terms.
The health guarantee, in plain English
We offer a one-year genetic health guarantee (from date of birth) covering life-threatening genetic and hereditary defects, subject to the full terms. In short:
- It covers serious inherited conditions diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian within the guarantee period.
- It does not cover accidents, injury, neglect, abuse, or problems caused by improper care.
- You must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 14 days of pickup.
- Documentation and timely notice matter. See the full terms for how claims work.
Being clear about limits is intentional. We would rather be honest than overpromise.
After pickup
Your job is ongoing care: nutrition, training, veterinary checkups, and a safe home. Ours is to answer questions and stay available. If you ever cannot keep a dog from us, please contact us so we can help with a responsible next step.
